Panasonic to Release DAB/FM Portable Radio & Micro System

18th June 2004

Panasonic are to bring out their first DAB/FM portable radio in July for £130. For those with more sense than money then I can personally recommend the Sony ICF703 FM/MW/LW portable radio which costs just £25 from simplyradios.com but sounds excellent for the money.

The micro system will cost £200 but this website advises people to avoid buying DAB "hi-fi" systems because DAB has far too low an audio quality for fixed home listening and people would be far better off getting a Freeview or digital satellite receiver and plugging this into a hi-fi system instead as these systems provide far higher audio quality for the digital radio stations.
