Radio 1 to be Carried on Sirius Satellite Radio in America

BBC Worldwide have made a deal with Sirius Satellite Radio, which allow the subscription-based digital radio system to broadcast Radio 1 across the United States. This comes a day after the Office of Fair Trading severely criticised the BBC's commercial arm, BBC Worldwide, due to the affect the BBC's commercial activities can have on competing companies in the UK. The UK commercial radio groups can't complain about this deal for Radio 1 to be carried on Sirius, though, because Sirius is an advert-free system.
